SO GET YOUR PASSPORT 2 DRIVE WITH US!
About us
Getting your Driver’s Licence is the “Passport” to a successful future.
Driving legally opens up so many possibilities and enables independence, job security and freedom.
Passport 2 Drive is NZ’s first Community Driving School. The funding we receive enables us to offer Driver Education at reduced rates.
All our Instructors are NZTA recognised and are ‘I-endorsed’, so you can be sure of high quality driving instruction.
The cost of your Learn-to-Drive journey will depend on what driving level you are at:
Please note: All new clients must first take a Driving Assessment with our Instructors. (Driving Assessments are 50min, with a 10min debrief and a referral to a driving programme that best fits your needs.)
Beginner - (little or no experience)
Please note: Due to high demand, there is a waiting list (approx 4-6 weeks)

Open Road: Driver Training for Former Refugees
The Open Road programme aims to help refugee background people to get their restricted licence.
Being able to learn to drive is important to many former refugees for access to work, as well as to support greater participation in their wider communities. Having your licence supports longer terms goals of employment and independence. Learning to drive can be difficult without a car or a person to help teach driving skills. A driving licence is seen as a huge step in settling into new communities and functioning independently.
Over 12-16 weeks, learners have a number of lessons from a qualified driving instructor then sit a mock test.
Volunteers are needed to help mentor former refugee learner drivers. You’ll be given training and use of a dual controlled car, and have the chance to make a real difference in their new life in New Zealand. For further information or to register your interest.
Visit www.openroad.org.nz for more details
The programme is a co-funded initiative by New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) and Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment, and is based on NZTA’s Community Driver Mentor Programme.
